I was recently asked how I created my business and what allowed me to stand out and how they can do the same thing. Effectively the it is what does it take to become a Thought Leader – There is a difference between a “subject matter expert” and a “thought leader” – An SME knows stuff but a TL is KNOWN for knowing stuff! So you want to become a Thought Leader? – Are you known for knowing stuff and knowing it in a unique way. In other wards truly a thought leader and NOT a thought repeater.
It is about taking your wisdom, experience, perspective and uniqueness and packaging in a way that is learnable, teachable, memorable and valuable (commercially smart). There are a number of elements to building yourself as a thought leader but this short video will touch on what I think is one of the most important element and that how capture information in models or frameworks.
What does it take to create learnable, teachable, memorable and valuable frameworks that will set you apart and stand the test of time?
I would love to hear your thoughts and where you are in your journey.
Hey there. I’m Mel Abraham, the Entrepreneur solution, the founder of Business Breakthrough Academy. Well, we teach you how to design your business so you can create a life that has financial freedom and peace of mind.
And actually, I’m here actually in Manly Beach, Australia. Just outside the Sydney. This is, I’m sitting at the balcony of my hotel room overlooking the beach. This is my second home on the other hemisphere. I seem to be here a lot each year and I had the privilege and the honor of being and participating with the group of thought leaders and difference makers in entrepreneurs. Those that have expertise and wisdom and experience and perspective that they wanna share with the world that’s gonna make a difference and help people out.
Now, the interesting thing is that, all of us have that. All of us have heard about the expert industry and understands some of the marketing but of the challenges is that, how do you package it in a way, capture your wisdom, your expertise, your perspective and your uniqueness in such a way that it is teachable, it’s learnable, it’s memorable and it’s monetizeable.
That really is what allows you to really create a business out of it, to create a professional, to create a calling out of it if you will. And so there’s three characteristics in doing this. In order to take your expertise, your wisdom, your perspective and your uniqueness and package it together, we need to do it in frameworks.
If you look at all of the experts, all of the people that has spent at the test of time, the Steven Covey’s of the world, the Brian Tracy’s of the world, you know the ZigZiglar’s of the world, they have frameworks. That’s the key.
So the question is how do you create a framework? That’s teachable, memorable, learnable and monetizeable. Well, in order to have a framework that does that you need to have three levels to your framework. You need to have the three characteristics associated with your framework.
The first is, it needs to be, it needs to create awareness. It’s an awareness of where your students, the people you’re talking to, the people you’re working with are at that moment and also an awareness of where they may wanna be. And so it needs to create awareness.
The second characteristic is what we called distinctions. A versus B, creating distinctions between where they are and where they wanna be and all that, understanding the distinctions becomes important.
And then the third characteristic which is really where all of the change and shift happens is it needs to be prescriptive. It needs to have a prescription. In other words it needs to be able to tell and teach the path to go from point A to point B.
So if you wanna create something that’s teachable, learnable, memorable and monetizeable, something that’s really valuable to a marketplace, that’s impactful to the people that you’re working with, you wanna do it in frameworks. You wanna make sure that they have the three characteristics of awareness, distinction and prescription.
I hope you found that of value to you. I’m gonna be here for a week. I may do some more videos for you and look for some more information about my Thoughtpreneur Academy coming up and I look forward to talking to you soon.
In the meantime may your vision be grand, you journey epic and your legacy significant. See you on the other side. Bye now.
